As we draw towards the end of 2015, so too do we mark our first 100 days as custodians of Stewart Christie and Co. We still find we are pinching ourselves as we start to fully appreciate what an honour it is to have the opportunity to build on a company with such a long history, noble reputation and rich heritage.
The team has not stopped since the summer, although there is so much more that we look forward to working on throughout this New Year. We continue to be truly humbled by the support and encouragement we have received from all our staff and other business supporters, our loyal customers, the many new faces who have joined us and of course our friends and family as we continue with our plans.
Thursday 10th December saw a small gathering of supporters in the shop for a Christmas evening celebrating the launch of our new website and social media feeds and to toast our progress to date. The partial refurbishment of the front shop with our new hand crafted cabinets was a cause for much excitement and comment and we look forward to welcoming you back to celebrate the completion of this work in due course.
Helping us all to enjoy ourselves was mood setting music by renowned gramophone DJ, Lord Holyrude , a seemingly endless supply of seasonal gin cocktails from our great friends at Hendricks , served up by Jon Hughes of Mothership Events and – of course - a whisky tasting hosted by Glenfiddich 's very own Mark Thomson, a stalwart supporter and one whose generosity was much appreciated by guests and staff alike…! Delicious (and for some rather necessary) mince pies were served courtesy of our photographer Kristie de Garis - a wonderful addition to our team and someone who has helped in so many ways – now extending to pastry making!
Thank you to those friends who managed to join us to celebrate and to those who didn’t make it: don’t worry - we’ll see you soon at our next event.
We wish you all a very Merry Christie-mas (sorry… …but it is the season of poor jokes…!) and here is to a prosperous, well dressed, New Year
